With an average group size of just 12 (and a max of 16), your guide can tailor each day’s activities to suit the group’s vibe. No waiting around for a big busload of people, just more time to dive into the adventure and make the most of your New Zealand journey!

Choose from a range of add-on activities, accommodation upgrades, and trip extensions to make your experience truly your own. We recommend booking your must-do activities ahead of time, especially during the busy summer months. But even if you don’t add extras, a Haka Tour is always packed with incredible sights and things to do!

Accommodation On Tour
All Haka tours include accommodation as part of your New Zealand trip cost. Haka arranges stays that suit your tour’s needs alongside your fellow travellers. Haka offers two tiers of tours, each with upgrade options available. For your New Zealand adventure and snow tours, accommodation typically consists of dorm-style lodging at quality lodges, hostels, and motels (including our own Haka Lodges). If you’re on a Haka Plus Tour, you’ll enjoy a bit more comfort with twin-share rooms in 3- and 4-star hotels.

Culture On Tour
Celebrating New Zealand’s indigenous Māori culture is incredibly important, which is why Haka blends cultural experiences with adventure in all the small group tours. When you join a Haka Tour, you’ll be welcomed with a traditional Māori greeting, known as a Mihi, and bid farewell with a Poroporoaki at the end of your journey.

Each Haka Tour also includes one or two cultural experiences—whether you’re carving a greenstone pendant, paddling a waka (Māori canoe), or enjoying a hāngī feast, you’ll leave with a deeper cultural connection that enriches your New Zealand adventure.
