It’s the perfect experience for both non-swimmers and beginners, offering an awesome introduction to the exhilarating world of canyoning.
Your guides will meet you in downtown Queenstown for a central pick-up, kicking off a quick and scenic 40-minute drive through the picturesque wine country of Gibbston Valley to reach the canyon. Forget about the gear – they’ve got you covered with canyoning-specific wetsuits, socks, shoes, harness, helmet, and climbing gear. All you need to bring is your swimwear and a towel.
Once you’re suited up in top-notch gear, your seasoned guide will provide a comprehensive safety briefing and demonstration. Afterward, embark on a 15-minute walk into the canyon and let the adventure begin! You’ll spend approximately 2 hours in the canyon, and here’s the best part – you can tailor the challenge level to your liking for a fully personalized experience. Your guides are here to make it easy, providing easier routes and expert instructions for every part of the adventure.

The team will meet you downtown Queenstown for your central pick up and take a short 40 minute drive out through the wine country of Gibbston Valley to the canyon. The guides will provide all your equipment including a canyoning specific wetsuit, socks and shoes, harness, helmet and climbing gear and have a purpose built changing shelter on site for you to get dressed in.
Once you’re suited and booted in all the best gear, your experienced and professional guide will provide a full safety briefing and demonstration, then you will take a walk approximately 15 minutes into the canyon and begin your adventure! You will get to enjoy sliding natural waterslides, abseiling down waterfalls and climbing through massive stone walls! You will be in the canyon for up to approximately 2 hours. Please note the canyoning time is variable with the groups ability and size.

Payment is required at the time of booking.
If you book a ticket and are found to be un-suitable all tickets are non-refundable within 48 hours of departure.
Where multiple tickets are purchased, any cancellations made within 48 hours of departure resulting in only 1 person now travelling from the group, will result in cancellation of the trip with all tickets charged and not refundable.
Damage or loss to any equipment will be charged.
If clients do not cancel and simply do not show up, the booking will also be 100% charged.
All cancellations must be made in writing via email.
Minimum numbers are required on every trip and Canyoning New Zealand reserves the right to cancel any trip when these numbers are not met.
Canyoning New Zealand reserves the right to cancel any trip due to weather, customers suitability and guiding ratios.
All customers must be well for travel, any customer seen to be unwell cannot travel and these tickets will not be refunded.
The maximum age is 60 years old, anyone over 60 years old cannot travel and these tickets will not be refunded within 48 hours of departure.
The minimum age is 10 years old, anyone under 10 years old cannot travel and these tickets will not be refunded within 48 hours of departure.
All participants 16 years and under require their legal guardian to sign our acknowledgement of risk form prior to travel or at check in.
Participants 16 years and under that wish to travel without their legal guardian accompanying them require further screening from our reservations team before the departure date.
When booking in larger groups of 8 pax or more, we can’t guarantee you will be traveling as one group, this split is dependent on the days numbers and groups ability
Risk Acknowledgement:
All participants aged 17 years and over are required to sign our “Acknowledgement of Risk” form at check in on the day of travel.
All participants 16 years and under require their legal guardian to sign our acknowledgement of risk form prior to travel or at check in.
Make sure to check in at the location specified in your confirmation at least 15 minutes before the tour begins.
Cancellations & Refunds
If your service provider cancels the tour or activity you have booked, then you are entitled to a full refund.
Happy Travels New Zealand does not refund in cash and can only refund back onto your Visa, Mastercard or American Express.
Fees paid to Happy Travels for credit card fees, deposits, bus tickets and luggage storage are non-refundable or transferable.
If you decide to cancel your activities or accommodation for any reason, a 50% Cancellation Fee will be applied. In addition to Happy Travels Cancellation Fee, you may also be liable for any cancellation fees charged by the service provider as per their own terms and conditions. It is therefore possible your cancellation fees could be up to 100% of the cost of the booking (for example cancellations made within 24hrs of travel).

Trips with booked dates: It is your responsibility to ensure the dates on vouchers are correct and correspond to your own itinerary, including any transport tickets, campervans & bed nights. Please double-check that the pick-up locations for your selected tours are correct. The times printed on your tickets are generally the departure times of the tours you have booked, arrive 15 minutes prior to the time stated on your voucher to ensure you are on time. If you are late for a tour, the tour operator reserves the right to mark you as a no- show and charge a 100% cancellation fee.
All bookings must be reconfirmed 48 hours in advance by contacting your tour provider directly using the contact information listed on your tour voucher.

Yes, we do have open dated/flexible tickets available. Most tour vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase, however please be aware that you may be subject to supplier price fluctuations. All ticket validity is specified on the tour voucher. If you are unsure of the validity of your voucher, just ask one of our wonderful staff.
