Experience one of the most scenic flights in the world, in the bespoke setting of a helicopter. Listen to the fascinating commentary as your pilot navigates you through two world heritage national parks.

First you will explore the famous Mt. Aspiring National Park, soaring over beautiful alpine lakes and the glaciers which are snow covered all year round. Your first landing on this flight will be on a beautiful snow covered mountain in the glacial fields. After a 5 to 7 minute landing you will continue your journey.

When the snow and ice fades and the lush rainforest starts, it marks the start of the Fiordland National Park, which makes up the unique landscapes that Milford Sound is renowned for.

The helicopter will hover next to cascading waterfalls and rainforest covered fiord mountains, giving you unique photo opportunities exclusive to this form of aviation.

Upon landing in Milford Sound your pilot will then personally escort you to the boutique nature cruise by Mitre Peak Cruises. You will voyage out on a 2 hour journey and will gain a whole new perspective of the fiord.

Sit back and relax while cruising the full length of the 16km fiord, venturing past the iconic Mitre Peak to the mighty Lady Bowen Falls, Lion Mountain, Copper Point, Seal Rock and Stirling Falls. Be sure to keep an eye out along the way for seals basking in the sun, pods of dolphins and even the rare Fiordland Crested Penguins that can be found seasonally within the region.
The last leg of your journey will be another completely unique helicopter flight back, that chooses a different flight path featuring famous backdrops such as Glenorchy and the braided rivers that have graced the big movie screens in blockbusters such as The Lord Of The Rings.

Please Note: A credit card is required to pre-authorise and guarantee your booking. Payment for your flight can be made on the day of your departure. Should you fail to show for the trip when space is guaranteed, your credit card will be debited with the total amount of the booked activity.

MINIMUM NUMBERS
All flights have a minimum passenger number for departures. Bookings will be accepted for numbers less than the required minimum as we will coordinate to achieve the required minimum. Clients are required to reconfirm their reservation the day prior to flying by calling The Helicopter Line base where they have booked to fly. For contact numbers visit our contact us page.

Make sure to check in at the location  specified in your confirmation at least 15 minutes before the  tour begins.

Cancellations & Refunds

If your service provider cancels the tour or activity you have booked, then you are entitled to a full refund.

Happy Travels New Zealand does not refund in cash and can only refund back onto your Visa, Mastercard or American Express.

Fees paid to Happy Travels for credit card fees, deposits, bus tickets and luggage storage are non-refundable or transferable.

If you decide to cancel your activities or accommodation for any reason, a 50% Cancellation Fee will be applied. In addition to Happy Travels Cancellation Fee, you may also be liable for any cancellation fees charged by the service provider as per their own terms and conditions. It is therefore possible your cancellation fees could be up to 100% of the cost of the booking (for example cancellations made within 24hrs of travel).

Your Responsibilities
Trips with booked dates: It is your responsibility to ensure the dates on vouchers are correct and correspond to your own itinerary, including any transport tickets, campervans & bed nights. Please double-check that the pick-up locations for your selected tours are correct. The times printed on your tickets are generally the departure times of the tours you have booked, arrive 15 minutes prior to the time stated on your voucher to ensure you are on time. If you are late for a tour, the tour operator reserves the right to mark you as a no- show and charge a 100% cancellation fee.

All bookings must be reconfirmed 48 hours in advance by contacting your tour provider directly using the contact information listed on your tour voucher.

Yes, we do have open dated/flexible tickets available. Most tour vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase, however please be aware that you may be subject to supplier price fluctuations. All ticket validity is specified on the tour voucher. If you are unsure of the validity of your voucher, just ask one of our wonderful staff.

We endorse the recommendation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade that all travellers take out travel insurance.
