Be sure to keep an eye out along the way for seals basking in the sun, pods of dolphins and even the rare Fiordland Crested Penguins that can be found seasonally within the region.
Mitre Peak cruises have strictly limited passenger numbers, ensuring an intimate journey through New Zealand’s most visited fiord. Whether sitting inside or out on the viewing deck, you will have fantastic unobstructed photo opportunities as your knowledgeable skipper provides fascinating commentary on the highlights along the duration of the cruise.
This 2 hour journey departs multiple times a day giving you full flexibility for your itinerary.
Please make sure to arrive at the Mitre Peak ferry terminal 30 minutes prior to the departure you have booked.
Sit back and relax as your cruise makes its way out into Milford Sound past the iconic Mitre Peak. You will sail the length of the 16km fiord, out past St Annes Point Lighthouse, with informative commentary from your skipper who will highlight points of interest along the way including the mighty Lady Bowen Falls, Lion Mountain, Copper Point, Seal Rock and Stirling Falls. You’ll see towering peaks, sheer cliffs, cascading waterfalls and lush rainforest. Feel the spray of Fairy Falls and listen to the sound of nature thriving in its habitat.
You will also go out into the Tasman Sea so you can enjoy the unique opportunity of approaching the fiord just as the first sealers did way back in the 18th century.
Be sure to keep an eye out for seals basking in the sun, pods of dolphins, or rare Fiordland Crested Penguins that can be found seasonally within the region.

This is achieved through developing and maintaining a culture where safety is our paramount consideration in everything we do.
We actively promote safety objectives, not only in the operation of our assets and equipment, but also through maintenance practices, the management of passengers and the training and competency assessment of all staff to a very high standard.
Our teams of experienced and capable managers and skilled staff have specialist knowledge relevant to each of our aviation, marine and adventure operations.
We have implemented Safety Management Systems approved by the relevant regulators.
Should other providers be contracted to deliver services, we check to ensure operators are regulated and audited for H&S compliance to a high standard.
Cancellation and Amendments
Mitre Peak Cruises will allow cancellations at its discretion:
All cancellations for Cruise Only bookings require a minimum of 24 hours notice prior to sailing for a full refund. All cancellations for a Coach-Cruise-Coach booking ex Queenstown or Te Anau require a minimum of 48 hours notice prior to departure for a full refund.
Reservations can be amended within the required timeframe of departure to a different date or time by contacting 0800 744 633. The difference in pricing may be payable if applicable.
Mitre Peak Cruises reserves the right to amend timetables, cancel cruise departures at any time for safety or operational reasons. Mitre Peak Cruises has the right to cancel any cruise at any time due to unsafe weather conditions, or change the cruise route at the captain’s discretion.
Minimum of six paying adults is required for cruises to go ahead.
Road Closure
The Milford Road is subject to closure by the Land Transport Authority at any time. For the latest road report visit www.milfordroad.co.nz.
Mitre Peak Cruises accepts no responsibility for travel disruptions due to road closure. Passengers affected by road closure can reschedule or cancel with a full refund.
Promotional Purposes
Photographs of passengers may be used by Mitre Peak Cruises for promotional purposes.
Make sure to check in at the location specified in your confirmation at least 15 minutes before the tour begins.
Cancellations & Refunds
If your service provider cancels the tour or activity you have booked, then you are entitled to a full refund.
Happy Travels New Zealand does not refund in cash and can only refund back onto your Visa, Mastercard or American Express.
Fees paid to Happy Travels for credit card fees, deposits, bus tickets and luggage storage are non-refundable or transferable.
If you decide to cancel your activities or accommodation for any reason, a 50% Cancellation Fee will be applied. In addition to Happy Travels Cancellation Fee, you may also be liable for any cancellation fees charged by the service provider as per their own terms and conditions. It is therefore possible your cancellation fees could be up to 100% of the cost of the booking (for example cancellations made within 24hrs of travel).

Your Responsibilities
Trips with booked dates: It is your responsibility to ensure the dates on vouchers are correct and correspond to your own itinerary, including any transport tickets, campervans & bed nights. Please double-check that the pick-up locations for your selected tours are correct. The times printed on your tickets are generally the departure times of the tours you have booked, arrive 15 minutes prior to the time stated on your voucher to ensure you are on time. If you are late for a tour, the tour operator reserves the right to mark you as a no- show and charge a 100% cancellation fee.
All bookings must be reconfirmed 48 hours in advance by contacting your tour provider directly using the contact information listed on your tour voucher.

Yes, we do have open dated/flexible tickets available. Most tour vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase, however please be aware that you may be subject to supplier price fluctuations. All ticket validity is specified on the tour voucher. If you are unsure of the validity of your voucher, just ask one of our wonderful staff.
