Paradise Ziplines

Full safety gear and training on our low practice line will be provided by our fabulous guides before you begin so no experience is required; just an adventurous spirit. One guide attaches you onto each zipline, while the other guide at the other end of the zipline works the brakes for you and takes you off the zipline and attaches you to the safety line, leaving you to enjoy the exhilaration while soaking up the scenery.

After training the tour starts with an uphill walk over uneven ground through beautiful native red and mountain beech forest. There is about 100m of elevation gain over 500m of trail. This walk includes plenty of stops to catch your breath and usually takes around 15-20 minutes, good mobility is required.

The first line launches off a cliff and travels high above the Oxburn Stream giving a panoramic view of the course and the surrounding mountains made famous by Lord of the Rings, which are the backdrop to an area officially named Paradise.

Our next two lines are a canopy tour through the pristine native beech forest over the canyon, weaving up stream.

At halfway, on our fourth line, and one of the favourites (known as the ‘Orc Chasm’) you’ll zip 200 meters through a tree tunneled slot canyon, over a waterfall, only metres above the alpine stream’s chasm. The next three lines also weave us downstream just meters above the rapids, following the curves of the alpine stream deep within the canyon, bringing us to the final line, the stunning ‘Blue Lagoon’.

After Blue Lagoon, there is only a 100m flat walk back to base where our lovely guides take off your gear and take you back to where we picked you up from.

Zipline Conditions
Please be at your pick up location 10 minutes prior to your departure time
Minimum age is 10 years. 10 – 16 years require parental/guardian consent and must be accompanied by an adult. Young children must be accompanied by 2 adults for supervision at both ends of the ziplines.
Minimum weight is 30kg, maximum is 125kg
The age restriction of 10 years and minimum 30kg has two components:

If your child is very thin, our harness may not fit properly and they wont be able to participate. Minimum waist measurement of our harness is 58 cm (23 inches)

Maturity – our course is set in a natural environment with natural hazards including exposed cliffs. There are also moving parts on the zipline that can be hazardous. Please decide if your child is mature enough for this environment.

Closed toes shoes are required – suitable for outdoor walking
Please wear clothing suitable for the outdoors with long sleeves and long pants

Cancellation/amendment policy
Individual bookings:

Changes may be made up to 24 hours prior to the trip when booking directly with us.

A full refund will be given if you need to cancel up to 24 hours prior to the trip
No refund given for cancellations within 24 hours for any reason – Changes within 24 hours are subject to availability – if no availability then the cancellation policy applies
If you miss your pick up for any reason, no refund will be given
We suggest you invest in travel insurance as we are unable to be flexible on our cancellation policy
Group Bookings:

Final numbers are required to be advised 7 days in advance – this final number is the minimum number charged for regardless of the number that turn up.
No refunds given for cancellations within 7 days
Changes within 7 days are subject to availability, if no availability then cancellation policy applies
Paradise Ziplines reserves the right to cancel or amend any tour due to weather or other conditions beyond our control that may interfere with the safe operation of our tour. Affected customers will be contacted and offered alternative tour times or a full refund.

All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST (15%).

If you have booked with an agent, please check their terms and conditions and theirs may differ from ours.

Make sure to check in at the location  specified in your confirmation at least 15 minutes before the  tour begins.

Cancellations & Refunds

If your service provider cancels the tour or activity you have booked, then you are entitled to a full refund.

Happy Travels New Zealand does not refund in cash and can only refund back onto your Visa, Mastercard or American Express.

Fees paid to Happy Travels for credit card fees, deposits, bus tickets and luggage storage are non-refundable or transferable.

If you decide to cancel your activities or accommodation for any reason, a 50% Cancellation Fee will be applied. In addition to Happy Travels Cancellation Fee, you may also be liable for any cancellation fees charged by the service provider as per their own terms and conditions. It is therefore possible your cancellation fees could be up to 100% of the cost of the booking (for example cancellations made within 24hrs of travel).
Booking Confirmations

Your Responsibilities
Trips with booked dates: It is your responsibility to ensure the dates on vouchers are correct and correspond to your own itinerary, including any transport tickets, campervans & bed nights. Please double-check that the pick-up locations for your selected tours are correct. The times printed on your tickets are generally the departure times of the tours you have booked, arrive 15 minutes prior to the time stated on your voucher to ensure you are on time. If you are late for a tour, the tour operator reserves the right to mark you as a no- show and charge a 100% cancellation fee.

All bookings must be reconfirmed 48 hours in advance by contacting your tour provider directly using the contact information listed on your tour voucher.

Yes, we do have open dated/flexible tickets available. Most tour vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase, however please be aware that you may be subject to supplier price fluctuations. All ticket validity is specified on the tour voucher. If you are unsure of the validity of your voucher, just ask one of our wonderful staff.

We endorse the recommendation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade that all travellers take out travel insurance. If you already have travel insurance, please understand that it is your responsibility to ensure that your travel insurance covers you for all of the adventure style travel you have booked with us.
