Kickstart your day with a quick ride or hop on the free shuttle to the rafting base nestled in Arthur’s Point. Here, you’ll be greeted by a squad of rafting guides from around the globe who will hook you up with wetsuits, paddles, and life vests. We’ve got changing rooms and lockers to keep your belongings safe while you dive into the adventure.

Once everyone is geared up, hop on the rafting bus for a scenic drive down Skippers Canyon, the historic gold mining road of Queenstown. It’s not just a ride – our guides will use this journey to give you a top-notch safety briefing.

As you venture into the heart of the canyons, the group will be split into teams of six, each with its own rafting guide. This isn’t just a run-of-the-mill experience; it’s personalized and fully instructed. Get ready for a heart-pounding 2-hour rafting adventure, tackling grade 3-5 rapids, navigating waterfalls, and even cruising through a 170m tunnel carved through a mountain. Shotover Rafting Itinerary

Make your way down to the Kiosk on the Queenstown waterfront. Look for the RealNZ flags and black jet boats.
Check in 15 minutes before your experience so we can get you geared up and ready to go.
Place your belongings in the secure lockers (don’t forget your camera and sunglasses).
REAL NZ staff will supply life vests as you wait for your driver.
Hop onto the jet boat where you will get a full safety briefing.
Hold on as you exit Queenstown Bay at speed.
Jet across Lake Whakatipu fitting in plenty of those famous 360-degree spins.
The REAL NZ drivers will take you down the Kawarau River, under The Remarkables mountain range before spinning back round, Queenstown bound.
25 or 60 minute thrilling minutes later we will have you back to Queenstown Bay.

Your acceptance of the terms and conditions outlined are required to process your reservation.

Prepayment by credit card and subsequent confirmation by RealNZ Ltd is accepted as confirmation of your booking.

All transactions are conducted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). Due to exchange rate fluctuations, at times there may be some variance in the amounts refunded compared to the amount initially charged. RealNZ Ltd (and associated companies) does not accept any liability for these variances or any subsequent credit card/bank charges relating to these transfers to customers’ accounts.

RealNZ (and associated companies) reserve the right to amend timetables, cancel departures, substitute plant and equipment, amend specials or offers and alter ticket prices at any time.

All agreements and contracts shall be subject solely to New Zealand law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts. In the event of a cancellation or amendment to your booking, the notification period is in NZ time (NZST).

We strongly recommend travel insurance for all our experiences, especially for those that require longer notification periods for cancellation (see below).

By making a booking and consenting to our terms & conditions, you are agreeing to receive emails from us. These emails are only for internal improvement purposes and will never be passed to third parties for any mailing lists. Please ensure you have read and understand our Privacy Policy.

The majority of our vessels and all coaches are smoke-free zones, no smoking will be permitted onboard. Smoking is only allowed in the designated area on our overnight and multi-day cruises.

Cancellations:

In the event of a cancellation or amendment to your booking, refunds will only be granted when RealNZ receives notification at least 24 hours prior (NZ time) to departure date EXCEPT:

Milford Sound Overnight Cruises: 14 days prior to departure
Doubtful Sound Overnight Cruises: 14 days prior to departure
Stewart Island Lodge: 14 days prior to arrival date.

Landsborough Wilderness Experience – Terms and Conditions:
Cancellation policy:

30 days before departure – full refund less your deposit of $200
Between 14 and 30 days before departure – 50% refund
and less than two weeks – No refund
Discovery Expeditions – Terms and Conditions:
Age: If you are over 70 years, please consult your doctor to check your physical fitness.

Cancellations: All cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellation fees are not negotiable – we recommend travel insurance.

Web bookings require full payment at the time of booking.

Phone and all other booking methods require a non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and full payment 120 days prior to departure.

Cancellation fees are charged on the following basis for all bookings:

Outside 90 days prior to departure: NZ$100.00 per person + 20% of your ticket price
89 – 60 days prior to departure: NZ$200.00 per person + 20% of your ticket price
Within 59 days prior to departure: 100% of your ticket price
Once the expedition has departed, no portion of the package payment is refundable in the event of the individual or group being unable to proceed.

A $50 fee is charged for amendments to a confirmed reservation. Please note we cannot accept any amendments within 59 days prior to travel.

Promo Code promotions – Terms and Conditions:

– Bookings made on the RealNZ website will require the promo code to be entered in the “promo code” field during the booking process – then the discount will be applied.
– The promo code is case-sensitive and must be exact
– Full payment must be made at the time of booking

Cancellations & Refunds

If your service provider cancels the tour or activity you have booked, then you are entitled to a full refund.

Happy Travels New Zealand does not refund in cash and can only refund back onto your Visa, Mastercard or American Express.

Fees paid to Happy Travels for credit card fees, deposits, bus tickets and luggage storage are non-refundable or transferable.

If you decide to cancel your activities or accommodation for any reason, a 50% Cancellation Fee will be applied. In addition to Happy Travels Cancellation Fee, you may also be liable for any cancellation fees charged by the service provider as per their own terms and conditions. It is therefore possible your cancellation fees could be up to 100% of the cost of the booking (for example cancellations made within 24hrs of travel).
Booking Confirmations

Your Responsibilities
Trips with booked dates: It is your responsibility to ensure the dates on vouchers are correct and correspond to your own itinerary, including any transport tickets, campervans & bed nights. Please double-check that the pick-up locations for your selected tours are correct. The times printed on your tickets are generally the departure times of the tours you have booked, arrive 15 minutes prior to the time stated on your voucher to ensure you are on time. If you are late for a tour, the tour operator reserves the right to mark you as a no- show and charge a 100% cancellation fee.

Do I need to reconfirm my bookings?

All bookings must be reconfirmed 48 hours in advance by contacting your tour provider directly using the contact information listed on your tour voucher.

What should i do if my trip is cancelled due to bad weather?

You may either re-schedule directly with the supplier or you can email our support team on [email protected] and include your voucher number, name of product you booked, planned departure date and your contact details. Once you’ve emailed us, you can drop us a line at +64 340 90 978

Do you book tours with flexible dates? If so, how long are they valid for?

Yes, we do have open dated/flexible tickets available. Most tour vouchers are valid for 12 months from date of purchase, however please be aware that you may be subject to supplier price fluctuations. All ticket validity is specified on the tour voucher. If you are unsure of the validity of your voucher, just ask one of our wonderful staff.

Do I need travel insurance?

We endorse the recommendation of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade that all travellers take out travel insurance. If you already have travel insurance, please understand that it is your responsibility to ensure that your travel insurance covers you for all of the adventure style travel you have booked with us.

Do you offer payment plans?

Absolutely, we understand that paying off a big trip in one go isn’t always that easy. We offer flexible payment plans to suit all types of travellers with zero interest or fee’s (minimum $100NZD deposit required).
